His leader was the governer.

De Vaca discovered Texas on accident, by getting blown in to shore by a gale.
He got to Texas in 1528.
He left Texas in 1532. -

Fray Marcos' and Estebans journey
Fray Marcos was looking for Cibola.
Fray marcos sent in a man to what he thought was the seven cities of gold.
That man was killed.
He then reports seeing a city grander than Mexico city, and sends Cornado in. -

De Soto was originally the leader, but he died.
They were looking for gold.
They ended up finding only the Mississippi.
They reported the same thing as Cornado, and this kept the spanish away for 150 years. -
