Massacre in Amritsar
There was a massacre in Amritsar which was a holy place to the Sikhs. The British opened fire on the Indians who gathered Jallianwala Bagh for a religious festival. This event changed the minds of the people in the Indian National Congress. From this point forward, they wanted complete independence from Great Britain. -
Gandhi arrested
Gandhi's involvement in boycotting the government earned him a lot of attention from the British governement which is why he was arrested. -
Deportation of Bose
Subhas Chandra Bose's actions against the British Government enraged the Britishd, so the British deported him. He was sent to Myanmar which was called Burma at the time. -
Gandhi is released from prison
Gandhi gets released from prrson. He now had a new goal in his mind which was to help the untouchable caste and earn their support for the Indian National Congress. -

Salt March
Gandhi and thousands of other Indians marched to the sea to protest the law prohibiting Indians from making their own salt. The press covered this march which was useful to Gandhi in order to spread the word. -

Resignation of Bose
After being deserted by many important memebers of the Indian National Congress, Bose eventually resigned his position as President. However, he also created a group called Forward Bloc Party. -
Escape from House Arrest
Bose escaped from house arrest of the British to Khabul, Afghanistan. He then went to Germany in order to aid Great Britain's enemy in World War II. He hoped that this way he could pressure the British to leave India. -

The British arrested and imprisoned entire Indian National Congress leadership for their Quit India Campaign. -
Bose Arrives in Singapore
Bose goes to Singapore where he becomes the leader of the Indian National Army and the Indian Independence. He trains and raises an army to fight with Japan against the British. -
Creation of the Provisional Government of Free India
Bose created this which showed his resolve in fighting against the British in order to free India. -
Indian National Army surrenders
The INA were forced to surrender in Rangoon due to their defeat against the British who had more supplies and better technology. -

After war, British began serious negotiatiions for Indian independence. Held up by Muslim League demand for separate Muslim Pakistan. -
