Digital Middle School Launches
Parkside launches its "Parkside Charter Digital Middle School" for distance learning. Enrollment in digital classes targets home school students seeking middle school curriculum. Coupled with collaboratively created textbooks, students have a true digital education. Video conferencing allows contact with student tutors as well as instructors. -
Portfolio Assessments Replace Standardized Assessments
Portfolio Assessments of student work and accomplishments become a key component to measuring student success. Students create digital portfolios and showcase them at annual Presenations of Learning to the public. -
Digital Enrollment Surpasses Actual Enrollment at School SIte
The Digital Middle School's enrollment passes the actual daily enrollment of Parkside. -
The End of the Institution
Parkside will no longer have a daily enrollment of 850 students. Rather, students and an educational facilitator will meet on a once weekly basis in a "Creation Center" to review progress on group presentations of learning. The 2020 School Year is evolving into the education of the future.
