Google Classroom Introduction to Integration
With the start of the new school year, teachers will have received several emails regarding the upcoming implementation of Google Classroom and the trainings that will be offered throughout the year. In addition, the goal of have ALL teachers be introduced wll have started and continue throughout the year. Full classroom utilization will occur at the beginning of school year 2019-2020. -
Resources
Resources on your site: district led PD, TSA's who will come into our rooms to assist with technology/processing data, dpt. members who attended conferences/district PD to become the leads on campus.
Tech.leaders at your site: Conrad (G Cert. Level 1),Cabrera, Varvel, those who have attended conferences and district lead PD.
Technology available: Computer VDI labs, SS/ELA with a cart of 42 Chromebooks or HP Streams, teachers have their Surface, some have assigned district approved devices. -
Google Classroom Introduction
Teachers will be introduced to Google and what Google Classroom has to offer. -
Department Discussions
Departments can discuss what they have learned and implemented into their classroom with the Google Apps. They then can map out how they are going to integrate the apps and Google Classroom into their curriculum. -
PCT: Q&A of Google Apps and Classroom
One Wednesday a month during PCT: This will be where teachers can work in their PCT's to share, problem solve, create, or ask questions about Google Classroom. They are more than welcome to attend any possible Google training sessions that may be offered on campus with specific departments. By this time, teachers will have at least set their classroom up and have invited students. -

Invite those from the district in technology and TSA's to provide support and ideas to teachers during their prep periods to actively engage in creating a 21st century classroom environment. -
Google Apps: Pick one and try it
Teachers during PCT will discuss and choose a Google App they'd like to implement in their class: calendar, slides, sites, docs, forms, youtube, etc. They can either choose to implement the same one across the board or each member can try something different, based upon their preference and what they see best fits their curriculum. After choosing, teachers will create and post in their GClassroom. Next PCT teachers will discuss and evaluate their app along with data of assignment. Feedback. -

Teachers will create/post in their GClassroom. Next PCT teachers will discuss/evaluate their app along w/data of assignment. Feedback. -

Teachers can register for this PD being offered through the district to begin the process of learning and understanding Google and the app that will enhance the classroom. This session is for beginner Google users who will acquire Google Apps for Education skills and learn how to use them to enhance student learning. Participants will have plenty of time to work, plan, and play with the tools. -

Speak about how students are reacting to the implementation of more technology and what are the +/-'s that have been brought up. Possible survey/evaluation of students and their feedback can be created and administered. -

Beginning Google Apps for High School Teachers at District
HS teachers will acquire Google Apps for Education skills and learn how to use them to enhance student learning. Participants will learn how to use Drive in addition to ways students can utilize it for storage and as a portfolio of work. Attendees will learn how to use Google Apps for Education including: Docs, Slides, Forms & Sheets, and Draw. Participants will be presented with variety of ways students can use them for independent & collaborative work & demonstration of learning. -

At this time, teachers can either continue with the experimentation of apps or they can further their engagement with GClassroom by setting up a PBL project. The PBL will take time but the ideas need to be initiated and plans made. Depending on the proficiency levels of the teachers, they can create a PBL that is for [the teachers] basic, intermediate, and proficient.Possibly, the culminating activity for the final module of the year can be centered around the PBL-a mini one. -

Conclusion
In PCT, how did the apps work out with the curriculum. Provide feedback and chart the +/- for each app. For the PBL, assess students' levels of engagement. Did students finish? What did they learn throughout the process? Assess the benefits and disadvantages of creating and administering the PBL va GClassroom. -
Review of Google Apps and Classroom
During the S-Day, teachers will work on creating their Google Classroom to kick off their school year on a digital platform. -
Happy New School Year
Much reflection needs to be addressed with the past year as to how GClassroom apps were implemented or why they weren't. What is the next level of digital integration that needs to be implements. If teachers do not feel they are ready to go all in, then discussion can be made and another timeline created for them. However, those who are ready for full implementation can go to start the new school year digitally to create 21st century learners.
