Ch. 12.3 : Ottoman Empire, Mehmed’s birth.
Mehmed ii 1432-1481 Mehmed 11 ruled the Ottoman Empire from 1451 to 1481. During this time he greatly improved the new capital, Istanbul. He repaired damage caused by fighting and built palaces, mosques, and a huge, covered bazaar. He encouraged people from all over the empire to move to the city. -
Modern day Chapter 12, Smallpox cure
The old Baghdad doctor discovered a cure for small pox. The medicine is still used to treat smallpox today.
