The Mac Lab
During my freshman year at Clemson, the Mac Lab was vital for writing essays for my courses. I would walk across campus to wait for the next available computer. I fondly remember carefully tearing off the perforated edges of the printer paper. -
Columbia House Music CDs
Our extra cash in college was partly spent on CD subscription services to get the 12 music compact discs for 99 cents initially. Each month we chose the next ones to arrive in the mail. -
Personal Computer
During my senior year at Clemson, I no longer had to wait for the computer labs to complete work. My boyfriend (now husband) purchased a personal computer for his apartment. I remember how much freedom I felt to work on my classroom assignments without having to walk across campus. -

The sound of the internet connecting and "You've Got Mail!" will never escape my memories of the mid 90s. I do not miss those days of dial-up connectivity. -
The Blackberry
This phone was a stepping stone to my iPhone. The keyboard and roller ball cursors were fascinating technology among all my friends. -
iPod
You mean I can upload all of my CDs AND download new songs to this tiny device? I can have over 1000 songs on this? As a music lover, the iPod invention may have been the single best piece of technology I had encountered up to that point. -
Graduate School Online
Today I network online with fellow graduate students and professors daily to obtain a degree from Marshall that is a 6 hour drive from my house. I believe that I have grown as a professional and learned a great deal about my field of study, Library Media Specialist, from using the Blackboard platform. This would not have been possible without technology.
