    Jaclyns Birth

    Jaclyns Birth
My oldest sister, Jaclyn, is one of the most important people in my life. Growing up she always teased me because she hated not having all the attention. She used to push me down when I started to walk and it took me about 5 months longer than the average child to start walking. As she got older she started to accept that she's not the only child and our relationship grew stronger. Now we're best friends and absolutely love to do things together such as hiking and going to see movies.
  • Sophs Birth

    Sophs Birth
Just like my sister, Jaclyn, Sophia is a huge part of my life. Soph and I have always been best friends since a young age. We've always argued quite often and, in fact, still do. But despite all the stupid arguments we always end up loving each again in 30 minutes tops. We also share a lot of the same friends so we're constantly with each other everyday which is awesome because I love nothing more than hanging with my sister. I personally think we have a really cool relationship and I love her.
  • Runaway Cat

    Runaway Cat
My Grandpa always used to give the stray cats in Jamaica, Queens a place to live and some food. Once at a family party at my Grandparents house my dad made the drunken decision to take two of them home. Tinky and Sami joined our family and I adored both of them because of their social and loving personalities. They were trained to be outdoor cats and they always came home but one day Sami wasn't anywhere to be found. After a couple of days we came to terms that we would never see him again.
  • My First Cat

    My First Cat
I really like cats a lot. So naturally, I begged my parents everyday for two years to get one. After a while when they couldn't take it anymore they agreed to getting me one. I couldn't be more excited. As I held her in my hands on the ride home from the shelter I felt like a responsible young woman. I finally had something of my own to look after and care for. But more importantly, I desperately wanted to prove to my parents that I'm worthy of being responsible.
  • Biggest Fear

    Biggest Fear
I love the beach and the ocean. It's always been one of the most happiest and calming places to me. But, years ago I got swept under an gigantic wave that's since scarred me for life. Big waves is one of my biggest fears and I hate it because I simply love the ocean. I will never forget the feeling of terror I got just before the wave crashed down over me. As it hit me I could feel the water immediately consume my lungs. It tossed me around making feel an extreme sense of vulnerability.
  • Breaking My Wrist

    Breaking My Wrist
I was outside one afternoon after school doing gymnastics on my front yard. This was a normal routine for me and it felt like just any other day until I broke my wrist. I've always been proud of my ability to do flips and never injuring myself in the process. The second I felt the shocking pain fill my arm a voice speaking of failure filled my head. I went straight to my Dad and told him to take me to the hospital. Being the responsible parent he is, he refused to and told me to sleep it off.
  • Gymnastics Meet

    Gymnastics Meet
I practiced for months before the biggest meet of the gymnastics season. I was almost certain that I perfected my floor routine and tumbling before the big day. As I stood in my starting position waiting for my music to play I felt extremely anxious. I tried to ignore it but as soon as I started moving I felt myself choke up. My adrenaline helped me nail my tumbling but I lost my gracefulness in the process. I ended up getting a 6.93 out of 10 and I was a very disappointed.
  • Entering High School

    Entering High School
Starting high school was a huge pivotal moment in my life. This is mostly because of the large amount of socialization that occurs in high school led me to meet my best friend, Amber. She broke me out of my shell and introduced me to people I never thought I'd be able to be friends with due to my lack of social skills. I always found myself to be awkward and weird but Amber helped me embrace those qualities. Now I have a large inner circle of amazing and trustable friends.
  • Deciding To Graduate Early

    Deciding To Graduate Early
My decision to graduate early took a lot of my close friends and family by surprise. My parents were extremely happy to hear about this, in fact, my mom said "Finally getting rid of all of them, Dave" and held her hand up for a high five. My friends are all very supportive of my decision and are very exited for me. My sisters have a huge part in this considering the amount of support and help they're giving me. I'm really excited to go to college and eager to see where life takes me.
  • Hiking The Kaaterskill Falls

    Hiking The Kaaterskill Falls
Over this past summer Jaclyn and I went hiking all over New York but Kaaterskill Falls was one of the most beautiful places I've ever been. It was a long and dreadful hike especially for me considering my lack of physical activity. However it was definitely worth the striking pain in my feet. Kaaterskill Falls is a place our parents and their friends used to hike/camp out at all the time back in the day. It was very cool to visit a place our parents used to go when they were our age.
