Private Daycare Education
The education I received while attending a private daycare resulted in my ability to read and write on a first grade level while attending kindergarten. The option to allow me to skip kindergarten was presented to my parents, but they rejected the offer because they did not want me to possibly miss important information which may have caused me to struggle later on in my school career. -
The Start of My Private School Education Throughout Elementary School
This event connects to my personal legend because it gave me an advantage over other students as I learned in an enviroment which allowed me to build a close relationship with not only me peers, but also my teachers. This close relationship between my teachers and I resulted in me having a better understanding of the curriculum. My experience in private school also led to my devotion to learning and determination to be successful in my lifetime. -
Transition into the Public School System (middle school)
This event connects to my personal legend because for the first time in my school career I, surprisisingly, felt challenged. Also, my family and I had recently moved from Maryland to Georgia which left me friendless in a new enviroment which helped to build my character as I realized that I could no longer allow people to bully me and I began speaking up for myself. From then on I have become very honest and outspoken. -
Transition into Psychology
During early September of 2013, I changed my schedule to no longer include Spanish four due to the amount of difficulty I was having and I exchanged that class for psychology. This event is significant to my personal legend because shortly after registering into psychology, I realized my love for neuroscience and had a better idea of what I would like to major in once I got to college. -
Scheduling My Junior Year of High School
This event is significant to my personal legend because somone once told me that, "Your junior year determines your acceptance into a college; your senior determines whether or not you will be allowed to stay." -
Choosing How to Spend My Summer Wisely
This event connects to my personal legend as how a person spends their free time can have a large impact on whether or not a college views them as a well rounded person. I am currrently deciding what type of community service I would like to do during the summer. -
Determining Which Colleges I Would Like to Apply to
This decision will influence my personal legend because when choosing a college it is important to choose one that will best compliment not only the field I decide to major in, but also the type of enviroment that I will learn best in. -
Scheduling My Senior Year
This decision will be significant to my personal legend because colleges want to see that a student is challenging themself throughout their high school career including senior year. -
Choosing a Major
This decision is significant to my personal legend because the major I choose will determine what I will be doing for the rest of my life in reference to my career.
