Ellis Island Born as Thomas K. Schmitt in Ellis Island, New York. We left our country because of really bad economy issues. Me and my Family hope to gain more freedom and knowledge that we are safe. I want to find out what Ellis Island's culture is. -
Living in a Townhouse
I lived here about 5 years. It was a beautiful place. Even though it was really rough seeing all the people suffer in tenement. I lived here with my mom and two brothers. My father died when a building collapsed. -
CA Gold Rush
Ca Gold Rush I took part in the California Gold Rush. Me, my dad, and my grandpa went on a mission to find gold. We didn't do to bad. I found4 tiny pieces of gold, my dad found 3 onces of gold, and my grandpa didn't find anything. We came home and sold it. We made about 1,000 dollars over all that. Thats how we made money to move to Ellis Island. -
Immagration station
Ellsi Island This is when we came to the Immagration Station. I felt crowded, the people there where alright. If you are nice to them, they will be nice to you. It also smelled disgusting! It smelled like body odor and smoke. But thankfully, I wasn't there for long. It took about 5 minutes to get through the station. I was with my friends and they thought the same too. -
Social Gospel Movement
Movement I believed in Christanity. I wanted to reform labor and abolish child labor. Children are to young to do labor. They should live their lives freely and happly. Also, we want to make thw world a better moving place to live. Inorder to do so, we must reform labor. -
Modeling a Skyscraper
I now have a job to design skyscrapers. It is very hard to get te right design that will no collapse or fall over. For this job, It is hard to make a design with the right type of supplies that you can afford and one that is not so expensive. My boss treats me very well. I usually work for about 6 hours a day part time. I earn minumum wage as an american worker.
