Rosie the Riveter was the home-front. She worked in the factories that the men left to join up with the military. She built the ships, the planes, and the tanks that were needed for the U.S. and the allies. Discrimination
On December 1st 1955, Rosa Parks refused to give up her seat on a public bus to make room for a white passenger. At that time, black people were considered inferior to the white people even though slavery had long been abolished. Rosa's refusal to comply was reported to the police and she was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct. John F.Kennedy became president in1961. As one of his first presidential acts, Kennedy asked Congress to create the Peace Corps.Kennedy called his domestic program the "New Frontier". Splitting Up
My parents got divocer in 1999.It didn`t break my heart because I was a baby.My mother decied to keep my sister and I with her.I didn`t vist my dad often because he lived in Chicago and my mother lived in Los Angeles.Growing I realized that I miss my father and I wanted to be close to him,but I didn`t want to live with him because he had a wife.I didn`t want to leave my mother alone because she has always been their with me.I`m glad they got divocer because they are both happy now. -
Moving to Oakland Califorina
In 2002 I had to move to Oakland it was sad moving to Oakland because I loved living in Los
Angeles I didn't want to move to Oakland because I didn't know anyone here expect my aunty and uncle.I didn't want to leave my school.I came to Oakland and I had to learn how to speak English it was very difficult because I only knew Spanish.I made a lots of friends here in Oakland and I don't regret living here. -
Graduating 5th Grade
Graduating 5th grade was so important to me because I was doing horrible in school.I was absent a lot because I was lazy to wake up early.I didn't pay attention in class.I was not passing most of my assignments.I am very thankful that I made it through and passed 5th grade because I didn't want to disappoint my parents. -
Brother Being Born
My handsome little brother was born. It was very exciting for me because I don't have any brothers.It was going to be my mother`s last children.His the prince of the house.He started going to kindergarten and I am always helping him on his homework and anything else that he is having trouble with.I am trying my best to be a good role model for him.I tell him he can accomplish anything in this world if he just trys.
