    First major Meso-American civilization. One of the most recognized symbols of the Olmecs is the heads that they carved. All of these heads were made out of a dense rock, basalt. No two of these heads were the same.

    The Aztecs arrived in Mexico's central valley. Some people believe that the Aztecs' sacrifces and cannibalism had to do with the lack of meat and protien in the Aztecs' deit.

    Francisco Hernández de Córdoba

    Francisco Hernández de Córdoba
    Francisco Hernández de Córdoba was the first european to visit Mexico territory. With about 100 men, he traveled from Cuba to Yucatán. The native people of Yucatán did not bond well with the Spanish and ended up killing about 50 of the Spanish and capturing several others. Luckily, Francisco Hernández de Córdoba survived and made it back to Cuba. He died in 1526.

    Jose was executed, he was a priest and a general in the Mexican Army. He got shot becuase people in Mexico thought he was a traitor when he continued to fight for independence in Mexico.

    Guadalupe Victoria was the first president of the Mexican Republic. He was president from 1924-1929. According to biography.com, "He made little progress domestically and economically, but did establish relations with all of the major foreign powers."
