In Rocklin, the current teaching and learning environment has progressed from teacher focused to student focused by grouping students for collaboration. We have access to technology and are working to infuse the use of Chromebooks in learning. There is much to learn regarding best practice and Coding is one area of focus.

What coding knowledge currently exists? what is the level of interest in learning to infuse coding into the K-6 classroom and beyond?

What free resources are available for use in the classroom? What resources do we need to purchase to implement fully Coding? Purchase materials and supplies needed.

Work with the District TOSAs to create a comprehensive plan to train staff providing multiple opportunities including District-wide PD days, PLC time, staff meetings, Innovator Cohort, and online learning courses.

Provide multiple opportunities for staff to engage in Coding for classroom infusion.

Observe Coding instruction in the classroom through informal visits and Instructional Rounds

Gather quantitative and qualitative data on student achievement to evaluate the effectiveness of Coding instruction.
