Visit Vocademy in Riverside to see what types of training, tools, supplies they offer to the community and detemine what is possible in a public school environment. -
Pitch the idea to district and site administration
With data to back suggestions, present the idea of implementing a makerspace at a school site in the district. Plan to pilot makerspace activities at one school and then spread to additional schools the following year(s) -
Choose place and space
Find a champion who is willing, ready and excited to participate in the pilot of the makerspace program. This person will be a resource to others once the program expands. -
Determine available funding
With district and site support determine budget available for space and begin to currate materials and plan to purchase additional supplies as needed. -
Plan purchases

Create PO(s) for puchases

Organize and stock makerspace with purchased items

Train personnel on using items in the makerspace
