Plymouth Colony
Plymouth colony was special for different reasons. Not only was it the second settlement founded on the newly discovered land, it was also were the first Thanksgiving took place. -

The Age of Enlightenment, was an era in which the people of the new colonies had no problems. Age of Enlightenment was just calm and peaceful era with no problems or wars going on. -
American Revolution
The American Revolution, was period between 1775-1783 in which fighting broke out between colonists and british soldiers. This was a key war in U.S. history because it gave the colonists or U.S. citizens there freedom from the harsh rule of Great Britain. -
U.S. Constitution
The U.S. constitution is important because it sealed the freedom of the U.S. people. While giving the U.S. people their freedom it also established the rules, rights, and laws of the people in the new country. -
California Gold Rush
The California Gold Rush was important because it brought settlers to the west and to the new territories. The rule during that time was that if a territory had a large population they could file to become a new state. So when the gold struck hit, millions of people went to California so the population sky rocketed, and California filed to become a state and was accepted. -
U.S. Civil War
The U.S. civil war started because the southern states and northern states could not come to an agreement on slavery. So the southern state tried to live the union but the north wouldn't let them so a full war broke out. After the northern states won the war slavery was abolished all through the U.S. -
Reconstruction Era
The reconstruction era was the era after the civil war in which the rebuilding started. Most reconstruction took place in the south, the southern economy, buildings, and the south were never the same again. The south lost so much money that they barely had enough to start the rebuilding process, but that didnt stop the south they still found was to make money and rebuild. -
World War 1
World war one was important because it was the first war of the new century. It started when Germany tried to take over the world, but the U.S. tried to stop them. The U.S. was no match for Germanies army so the U.S. asked for foreign help, after the war the U.S. had made new allies with Great Britain as well as other countries.
