Stalin attended a seminary in Tblisi
When Joseph stalin was a teenager he got a scholarship to attend a seminary in a city called Tblisi. He attended it and there he studied to be a priest in the Georgian Orthodox Church. While he was there he started to read “Communist Manifesto” and this is important because it made him interested in the revolutionary movement against the Russian monarchy.

Japenese defeat the Chinese at Wei Hai Wei
In 1895 the Chinese get defeated by the Chinese at Wei Hai Wei. This was called the Sino-Japenese war which was a conflict between Japan and China. This war demonstrated the weakness of the Chinese empire and showed Japan as a major world power. This event was important because it signified the end of chinese- japan war.

In 1895 the Chinese got defeated by the Japanese at Wei Hai Wei. This was called the Sino- Japenese was that was a conflict between Japan and China. This war showed how weak China was and how strong Japan was. This is an important event because it signified the end of the Chinese-Japan war. -
William Ramsay discovered Helium
In 1896 William Ramsay discovered helium. William Ramsay was a British physical chemist. He discovered four gases that were neon, argon, krypton, and xenon. He also showed that when those gases were mixed with helium and radon it formed a whole new family of elements. This event is very important because helium is one of the most abundant gases. -
Joseph Stalin arrested for the first time
Joseph Stalin was arrested for the first of multiple times on April 5, 1902. This was because he became a part in criminal activities including bank heists. He also decided to became an underground political agitator and he took part in things like labor demonstrations and strikes which got him into trouble. (History.com Staff 1) -
Portugal became a republic
In 1910 Portugal became a republic. There had to be a constitution written by the provisional government. After this constitution was written this meant that the monarchy was abolished and it made Portugal's first republic government. This was important because it established their first government.

In 1912 Lenin appointed Stalin to serve on the first Central Committee of the Bolshevik Party. In February he became a member of the Central Committee of the Bolshevik party. This is important because it got him involved with that party and then three years later the Bolsheviks took power of Russia.

The October Revolution took place on November sixth 1917. The October Revolution was the second and last major phase of the Russian Revolution. The Russian Revolution is when the Bolshevik Party seized power in Russia. This is an important event to Joseph Stalin because he was part of the Bolshevik Party so he took power of Russia.

Austria abolished death penalty
In 1919 Austria abolished the death penalty. This happened because or treason and military offences. The last person that this happened to was Johann Trnka. He was hung but after that they decided not to do it anymore in court. This was a significant event and a good decision because the death penalty was never a good concept because it was cruel. -
Signed the Anglo-Soviet trade agreement
In March 1921 Stalin signed the Anglo-Soviet trade agreement. This was an agreement signed to make trade easier between Great Britain and the Russian Socialist Federal Soviet Republic. This made for a peaceful trade. This is a significant event because it made trade more easy and peaceful which was very important because they used trade all the time so it had to be easy.

Joseph Stalin part of the Soviet Union
In 1922 the Soviet Union was founded and Lenin was their first leader. Gradually Stalin moved up the party ladder and eventually became secretary general of the Central Committee of the Communist Party and this meant that he could get political support and he got to choose his allies to government jobs. This is an important because soon he became the dictator of the Soviet Union.

In 1946 Hermann Joseph won the noble prize for medicine and physiology. He won this for the "discovery of the production of mutations by means of X-ray irradiation". This was a very important event and you know that because it won a noble prize.

Stalin announced the first post war 5 Year Plan
On February 9, 1946 Joseph Stalin announced the first postwar Five-Year plan. He told the people of his weary nation and he also said that they could not expect real prosperity until they had three or more five year plans. During this period of time he had to produce a lot of coal which didn't seem possible. This is important because it was the first postwar plan so they relied on it.

Seno-Soviet treaty of friendship and alliance
On February 14, 1950 the Seno-Soviet treat of friendship, alliance, and mutual aid was signed by Joseph Stalin. This treaty was made up at a meeting that Stalin attended. This treaty involved the Soviet Union which Joseph Stalin was a very large part of. That is why this treaty was important and he signed it.

Stalin died
Joseph Stalin died on March 5, 1953. He died in Moscow of a massive heart attack. Many people were actually relieved when he died.
