Slavery has been around for over 200 years! This is when americans took Africans from their home so we could have slaves. At the end when the counrty was split, the bloody civil war was ended slavery. -
Continental Congress officially signs the Declaration of Independence
The people who signed the Declaration of Independence all meet in Independence Hall which is in Philadelphia, PA. It was to get our freedom from Great Britain. This important because it was our freedom. -
Signing of the U.S. Constitution
The Constitution started to be written in May 25 1787 and got signed Sep. 17 1787.
This document is important because this gave us laws and our rights. -

The Gold Rush was a big thing because no empire "owned" the gold. People came from china mexico and other places for free gold Most people didn't truly become rich because people owned the land and the people had to pay to live there. -

The civil war was manily over the Slaves in the south. Abraham Lincoln was the president during this war. He help the North win the war and freed the slaves. -
Gettysburg Address
This powerful speech was given by Lincoln himself. This was to honor the men who died and to keep the North going. Lincoln push the North ti keep fighting. -

This was when men could go out west and take wild cows up to the railroad. This job was very dangerous but the men enjoyed it. -

In the begining the stock markets started to crash. By 10/29/29 stock prices went down in banks and they called for loans which made it worst.

Atomic Bombing on Hiroshima, Japan
In this event hundreds of Japness people died by the U.S. This was the final stage in WWII.
This is important because it was the first and last that atomic bombs were used because of all the destortion they cause. -
Eruption of Mt. St. Helens
Mt. St. Helens erupted for 9 hours causing the worst natural destrution in U.S. history. Also part of the Mt. collasped in on itself.
This is important because never in U.S. history has this happened. -
My Birthday
I was born in womens and babies hospital. I live with my mom dad and sister. Also a cat named Midnight. My interests as a 8th grader are art, animals and reading. -
Terrorist attacks of 9/11
This event was a big one in U.S. history. Two planes hit the twin towers, one hit the pentagon and the fourth one never made it to where it was going. We think it was the White House.
This is very important because many people died on that day and also it was one of few terrorist attcks in America.
