    James Watt invented the Steam Engine. It was used in locomotives, steam boats, and factories durring the industrial revolution. This invention is not as commonly used today but is still used in some factories.

    The steamboat was invented by Robert Fulton in New York. The steam boat made it easier to transport goods through out canals and rivers. This helped farmers take the produce they grew and bring it to a place were they could sell it. Today steamboats are not for practical use but could be used for looks in a show.

    Irish immegrants made the Erie Canal in New York which connected with the atlantic ocean. The contrubution to society is that it drasticly made it easier is import goods places. Today it is still used for the same purpose as in the 1800's.

    The steel plow was invented by Jonh Deer in Grand Detour, Illinois. The steel plow was used to losen the soil for farming. This impacted the American Society because it made farming faster and easier allowing farmers to farm more product. The steel plow is still used today by some farmers.

They cut steam boat trips in more then half. In war the it made it a lot easier to get supplies and materials places. Railroads are still used today to transport goods.

    The mechanical reaper was invented by Cyrus Hall Mccormick in Virginia. It cut standing grain and could harvest 5 times more then one man could do. The Impact on society was that it was faster to harvest produce which therefor made farmers more money. This invention is not used today because of technological advancements.

American society was effected because a few years later it was used commertialy so that the public could send messages through telephone poles. Although the telegragh is not used today in=t was a major influnce in the telephones today.

    Vulcanized rubber was invented by Charles Goodyear.It was invented in springfield Massachusets. The impact was mostly on transportation. It is used to make tires, rubber seals, transtion belts in cars, and a lot more things. In invention (dicovery) is still widly used today, mostly in cars. Also It is used to make hockey puck.

This made to production of cloths much faster. Also they were not only used for industrial use but families owned them. The women used it to maintain the families cloths. The sewing machine is used by most people today. It has the same use as it did back in the 1800's.
