One of the major political parties in India (INC) is created. -
Gandi travels to South Africa
Gandhi travelled to South Africa to work for one year. His experince there would change affect his work back in India dramatically. He experienced a lot of descrimination. -
Gandhi Rejected
On a train coming from South Africa, Gandi is forced to leave. This motivated him to fight for Indian Rights. -
The “All-India Muslim League” is created
This is the political group that led to the movement of the Eventual separation of India from the British. -
Non-violent Protest
Gandhi made a non-violent protest against the british in Satyagraha. -
Gandi is Arrested
Gandhi is arrested for the first time ever because he refused to obey a British soldier. -
End of WW1
With the end if WW1, India could now focus all their efforts in their independence. -
Government of India Act
The British were looking for a way to improve India. So they passed an act to increase the participation of Indians in the government. -
First general elections
The “Imperial Legislative Council” made the first general elections in the history of India. -
Gandhi is arrested
Gandhi is arrested again by the British Government because he was supposedly inciting violence in India -
Gandhi begins to fast
In order to reconcile peace and order, Gandhi decides to fast for 21 days. He hopes this will help join hindus and muslims -
Salt March
Mahatma Gandhi made a non-violent demonstration towards the british by marching to the Coastal Village of Dandi to make salt (This act was mostly symbolic). -
Gandhi travels to England
Gandhi travels by sea to England representing the Indian National Congress -
Government of India Act 1935
The British government was desperate to maintain control over the situation in India and decided to make an act that gave the Indian provinces more independance and gave them more rights. -
Official Indian Independence!
India finally received its official independence from the British. India and Pakistan were now 2 independent countries! -
Assasination of Gandi
Gandhi was shot by an unknown man after the independence of India.
