Declaration of Independance
Took place in Philadelphia, PA. The document was signed by a group in congress and stated all men are created equal and have the right to 'life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness'.
The Declaration of Independance is important because you can do what you want without having anybody telling you what to do. -

Took place mostly in the north east part of the United States. The north and south fought against eachother to find out whether or not slavery would end. This is important to the US becuase then if there was not this war or the north lost, there would be slavery today. -

The Great Depression
This impacted the entire world. The stock market carshed in the US in 1929. After that, the economy looked bad and people lost jobs. This was important becuase this bad economy spread to the rest of the world and eventually World War II started. -

World War II
Hitler wanted Germany to take over the world and started to attack countries. Japan then helped Hitler and Japan attacked the US. The war spread to the entire world.
This was important to the US becuase Japan attacked Pearl Harbor and later America dropped bombs on Japan to make them surrendor. -
9/11
On Spetember 11, 2001, Terroists attacked America by crashing planes into the World Trade Center in New York City. They also did this in Washington DC and in Pennsylvania. The terrorists attacked America becuase we don't believe in their religion. This was an important event becuase millions of dollars and thousands of lives were lost in America. It also led to the war in Iraq and Afganistan.
