    The Europeans began to build trading posts and by the early 1800s they were colonizing another country

    Hutu experienced violence until 1994 when Hutu began to engage in fighting against Tutsi people, 800,000 to 1 million Tutsi people were murdered

    South Africa held the first open elections, Nelson Mandela was elected the new president

    The second Civil War ends and millions of people died

    Tunisia began to agitate for a more democratic government, this was none as the Arab Spring

    President Ben Ali resigns and a democratic government was elected

    Dictator Muhammad Qaddafi refused to step down and a war broke out, many other countries joined. Eventually Qaddafi was captured and killed

    Islamic fundamentalist government led by Mohammed Morsi was over thrown by the military, leaving Morsi imprisoned and his political party banned.
