    The Dead Rabbits riot was a two-day civil disturbance in New York City evolving from what was originally a small scale street fight between members of the Dead Rabbits and the Bowery Boys into a citywide gang war. That occurred July 4th and 5th, 1857.

    The reason that this being founded was important to America was because it was the start to the end of slavery, but it made racism a lot worse.
  • John D. Rockefeller Creates Standard Oil

    What John D. Rockefeller was doing by creating standard oil is that he was making it so that we could eventually down the line have cars and things that could run off of this oil. This event was so important to American history because it made it to that we can use this oil in a lot of the things that we use.

    The reason that this was so important is because it has made it to that now we can use these in our everyday life.

    This event was where people rushed into Oklahoma to try and attempt to claim or purchase new land that just "appeared". This event was significant because it made it to that Indians couldn't claim any settlements there.

    This was a significant event in American history because it made it to that immigrants could get new opportunities in and experience the American lifestyle.

    The reason that this was important to American history is because it is one of if not the most famous book of all time to be published.
  • Teddy Roosevelt Becomes President of the United States

    The reason that this event was important to America is because he was taking the place of an assassinated president.
  • Ford Motor Company is Founded

    The reason that this event is so important to America is because it was the beginning of the first car invention.
  • Angel Island Opens to Process Immigrants

    The reason that this event was so important was because it made it so that we could control and enforce some of the new immigration laws.
  • The 17th Amendment is Passed

    This amendment made it where the constitution allowed people cast direct votes for senators.
  • The Empire State Building Opens

    The reason that the empire state building opening was so important is because it is a symbol of New York City and an embodiment of America's rise to global financial power in the 20th century.
