Riding on a boat to Ellis Island
I find the nearest port near my house in Great Britain and I get on the boat heading for Ellis Island. Along with many others wanting to move to America we take a long boat ride to the immigration station. We arrive at Ellis island and we are put through the long hours of processing. -
Selling Silver Jewelry
I finally found a valid buyer for my silver jewelry where i make about $50. I needed mor emoney to move west and now i can. -
Meeting Immigrant Friends
While traveling aorund the city i start to talk to a Russian man in the tenement i live in. I talk to him and we become friends. He introduces me to some other immigrants and now i dont feel so lonely in America. -
Life in America
Having easily passed my tests at the immigration station I have now been living in America for around 15 years. I am still living in this dreadfull tenament while I raise money to move west. I have been working at a store with low pay for years and finally I am beginning to have enough money to move. -
Moving West
I find a train that will take me to the west for a cheap price. I ride on the train for a day and then I arrive in the west. The first thing that I do when I arrive is buy supplies and a horse. While I have no place to stay I sleep outside for a week. -
Buying the Store and the land race
I find a building for sale and i end up buying it for a pretty good price. The building comes with a living space on top and a store on the bottom where I sell local produce that I get from farmers. My store starts out with slow busines but i starts to rapidley increase as people prepare for the race for land. -
The Robbery
I was robbed! My store was robbed and some of my money was stolen. After my money gets stolen I am forced to sell my horse to have enough money to pay my rent. -
Farmers
Many farmers have settled in the west after the race for land. Now that the men have settled I am looking for a good husband with land so that i no longer have to run my store. I want to get married, live on a farm, and have children. -
Selling the Store and Settling Down
After the business has been very successful for years a man offers to buy my store for lots of money. I sell the store and meet a man who I marry after two years. We have three children and we live on my husbands farm.
