Home Learning Shift
Following the recent global pandemic, there is a need to adapt the IB programme to efficiently support distance learning. A increase in the potential for students learning from home means that the internet will play a key role in ensuring that IB continues to have a global reach. -
Increasing prevalence of IB in secondary schools
Secondary assessment has gradually become standardised, resulting in many schools shifting their teaching to memorisation rather than an a deeper understanding of the content being taught. I believe there will be a paradigm shift where the importance of critique, analysis and evaluation is of a greater importance. As such, the IB will focus more on these skills in the future. -
IB becomes mainstream
IB is not currently the main programme of study at secondary school in the UK. However, A-levels only offer a limited scope of education and life skills, providing inadequate learning opportunities compared to what IB is able to provide. I foresee IB becoming more integrated in schools as they adopt a more holistic approach to secondary education
