IB ESS Training, Fall 2020

  • Growing international footprint.

By 1973 the IB was taught in nearly 5,000 schools in over 150 countries.
  • Primary Years Program introduction

PYP opens up a new world of learning for young children around the world helping them to engage in academics at a early age.
  • Career-related programme launch

Students learn what their education was meant for at an earlier age.
  • IB development of 10+ interdisciplinary courses

Interdisciplinary courses help students identify commonalities and differences between fields to gain a better overall appreciation of the possibilities in career development.
  • Launch of IB Hawaiian language DP Programme

The Hawaiian language is beautiful, unfortunately not many people speak it in Hawai'i. There are only a few schools that are "immersion" - taught in the Hawaiian language. An advanced secondary school program in Hawaiian would help to alleviate prevailing worries about students in Elementary immersion and quality education. As the Hawaiian language makes a resurgence more younger students may be willing to go into the Hawaiian language seeing as they have a way to use it in high school.
  • Launch of IB Programme requiring DP students to spend at least one summer (4-6 weeks) abroad
