Early months of 1810: Initiation
During the early months of the independence 4 people wanted to be the leaders of a revolution. These 4 people were Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla, Ignacio Allende, Josefa Ortiz de Dominguez, and Juan Aldama. To do such they first had to meet each other in secret meetings where their plans for the independence would develop. This meetings were constant and strictly confidential. -
Sept 13, 1810: Resistance
The secret plan of the revolution for independence has been discovered. The information of the plan got to the high rank Spanish Generals. They targeted the 4 integrants of the groups to which they captured Josefa but she refuses to reveal any details of their plan. The Spanish primary target was Miguel Hidalgo. -
Sept 16, 1810: Resistance
This day the Mexicans and Criollos were invoked to fight against the Spaniard Reign. Miguel Hidalgo gave his famous speech “El Grito” to encourage the people to follow him. -
September 28, 1810: Consolidation
Hidalgo and Allende's army fused together to capture the granary in Guanajuato. A great amount to spaniards and criollos were killed or exiled from “New Spain” This was possible due to the legendary “Pipila” who burned down the main door, providing a entry for Hidalgo's and Allende's army. -
October 30, 1810: Consolidation
This day a legendary battle begun in El Monte de las Cruces. The indians encountered spanish resistance here, leading to a battle to which they fought and were lead to victory -
January 1811: Consolidation
Another legendary battle was in Calderón bridge. This war was commanded by Miguel Hidalgo, Ignacio Allende, Mariano Abasolo, and Juan Aldama. They fought in the banks of the Calderón River in the east part of Guadalajara. -
July 31 1811: Consolidation
This day was a sad one, the leader of the revolution was executed. Miguel Hidalgo was killed by a firing squad leaving Jose Maria Morelos to lead the revolution. -
November 1815: Consolidation
Another Battle lead by Jose Maria Morelos troops. The 5th of November in Temalca, Puebla. In this battle Morelos was captured by Spanish troops and was later killed for plannig against the crown. -
February 24, 1821: Consummation
The armies lead by Agustin and Guerrero were united into the control of another army, Called ejercito de las Tres Garantias. The 3 guarantees were, Religion, Union, and Independence -
September 1821: Consummation
September 27 the Army of the Three Guarantees arrived at Mexico City. The next day Iturbide called for independence of the Mexican Empire. New Spain ignored this but they were officially independent after 11 years.
