Goals For Progressivism
- Protecting Social Welfare- made sure that the harsh conditions in factories would not be so harsh. It also prohibited child labor and limited women's working hours. 2. Promoting Moral Improvement- included prohinition. 3. Creating Economic Reform- big business were favored by the government. They wanted to get more competition to make it fair for everyone.

A naval base in Hawaii and it became a refueling station for American ships. I think it's important because this became a major event in WW 2. -

It exaggerated the war. -
U.S.S. Maine
It was bringing American citizens back to Amercia from Cuba to get away from the fighting but shortly after it left it got blown up and killed 260 men. -
Treaty of Paris
The US and Spain went to Paris to sign the treaty to stop the war. -
Panama Canal
Helped shorten travel that was by boat going from the Atlantic Ocean to the Pacific Ocean. -
Meat Inspection Act
Made sure that the meat was properly inspected before it was sold to the people. -
Pure Food and Drug Act
It made sure that labels were put on the medicine and food to let people know whats in it and if it is ok to eat. -
Great Migration
The large-scale movement of hundreds of thousands of Southern blacks to cities in the North. I think this is important because they wanted to escape discrimination and there were more job opportunities. -
Convoy System
Helped the merchant ships get back and forth across the Atlantic in groups. I think it's important because the ships that were going to land were getting blown up before they got to land and the people who needed the stuff on the ships weren't getting them and they started starving to death or getting sickness. -
Zimmermann Note
It was going to be sent to the German ambassador in Mexico from the German forgein minister but the British agents intercepted it. I think it was important because thats what brought the US into the war because the US felt used and betrayed by the Germans. -
Nineteenth Amendment
Gave women the right to vote. I think it's important because women did everything besides vote and I think they should have a say in the government. -
Prohibition
Banned alcoholic beverages. I think it's important because they tried to improve the lives of people that were drinking to much. -
Big Four
4 guys got together(Woodrow Wilson-US, David Lloyd George- Britain, Georges Clemenceau-France, Vittorio Orlando-Italy) and they were important because they tried to make peace on the war. -
Treaty of Versailles
It established 9 new nations and shifted the boundaries of other nations. It was supoose to be a peace treaty but it just made Germany mad.
