    In 1966 Helen Elizebeth graduated college with a B.A. in English literature from Barnard. She then continued on to complete her M.A. degree in philosophy at the University of Sussex, England In 1967. Afterward, she attended John Hopkins University to receive her PhD in 1973
  • First Book

    In 1990 Helen Longino wrote her first book, "Science as Social Knowledge". She argues that observations and data of science is not evidence against or for a hypothesis.
  • Professional Award

    In 2001 Helen Longino wrote her second book, "The Fate of Knowledge". In this book, she discusses the relationship between philosopher and sociologist knowledge in science and her work in social epistemology. In 2002 she received the Robert K. Merton Professional Award for best book from the section for Science, Knowledge, and Technology of the American Sociological Association.

    In 2016, Helen Logino was elected to the American Academy of Arts and Sciences at the University of Standford as a professor in Philosophy.
