  • American Revolution: The Sugar Act

    Parliment passed a modified version of the previous Sugar act declaring that all merchant colonists trading or selling sugar or molasses had to pay a large tariff. This set the stage for the revolt at the imposition of the stamp act.
  • American Revolution: The Stamp Act

    When parliment passed the stamp act, it created a large tax on everything imported and exported. Thus, creating a serious threat of a revolution in the colonies.
  • American Revoluiton: Boston Massacre

    Colonists began rebelling against British troops by throwing sticks and stones at them. This resulted in the British opening fire and killing 5 colonists and injuring 6 others. This angered the colonists very much, which ultimatley lead them to beginning the Revolution.
  • American Revolution: The Tea Act

    Parliment created the tea act to raise all taxes on tea, This upsted the colonists very much, and which in turn lead to the Boston Tea Party. Which basically started the Revolution.

    The colonists officially adopt the Declaration of Independence declaring their independence from britain and officially starting the Revolutionary War.

    Members from the thrid estate refuse to vote on a law that won't pass making the higher estates pay taxes. This ultimatley starts the French Revolution when the third estate rebels and refuses to vote.

    The first big rebellion of the commoners on France. They break into the bastille and steal all of the weapons in the prison and bring terror to all of France.This leads to the Reign of Terror on all of France.
  • French Revolution: Declaration of Rights of Man

    The assembly issues their version of the Declaration of Independecne to France. This is their first real form of a Constitusion in France. It ultimately fails, but gives some hope to the people of France.
  • Haitian Revolution: "All the proprieters ought to be active citizens" Amendment

    The General Assembly in Paris passed an amendment that gave all property owners the right to be a citizen. But it did exclude all colored people who usually owned property. This angered many of the colored people.
  • Haitian Revolution: Creole and African Slave Pact

    Slaves from the North Province created a big conspiracy group. They wanted to overthrow the French. Creole slaves made a pact with new African slaves to do so.
  • Haitian Revolution: Slaves attack Whites by Cape Francois

    Slaves assaulted the whites one evening because the General Assembly did not allow citizenship to free coloreds. After the Cape went down in flames, the Colonial Assembly in Haiti recognized the citizenship of all people of color.
  • French Revolution: Reign of Terror

    The Reign of Terror officially begins. Thousands of people are killed during this time. The king and queen try to escape France, but are caught and killed.
  • French Revolution: Napolean defeats Directory

    This is when Napolean officially takes over France and ends the French Revolution. Napolean ruled with a strong dictatorship, but kept France Stable. The first time in France in ten years that the nation is stable.
  • Haitian Revolution: Independence

    In 1803, France had surrendered on third of the islands to the Haitians. Dessalines and his generals had proclaimed that Saint Domingue was now an independent nation and was now call Haiti. In 1825, Haiti signed a treaty with France declaring no more use of their plantations.

    After Napolean's invasion of Spain and Portugal in 1807, many of the colonist leaders were weakened. So, in Mexico, Velenzuela, and Bolivia, they all started to rebel and overthrow the leaders in 1808.

    The Mexican Revolution War started on this date by Miguel Hidalgo Y Costilla. He was a priest and with supporters he rebeled against Spanish officials all across Mexico. He was stopped and captured in mexico City.

    This was the first major victory from the Mexicans against the Spanish colonist leaders. This fight was led by Miguel Hidalgo.

    The Spanish King and Iturbe signed the Treaty of Cordoba(Declaration of independence). This is finally when almost all Spanish colonies are now independent.

    Iturbide is elected to become the emperor of Mexico.
