    This case was initiated by parents who weren't pleased with their local schools for denying their children's rights to attend school. They sued the board of education of Topeka, Kansas. As a historic moment, the court's verdict ruled that school segregation was unconstitutional and a violation of the 14th amendment.

McCarthy made accusations against the U.S. army in the senate investigation but lost his support due to excessive bullying of his witnesses. As a result of this event, millions of people were forced to take loyalty oaths and undergo investigations.

This law also established the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission to ensure fair treatment in employment.

    Survived an assassination attempt in Vaurel, Maryland in 1972. Wallace fought integration as governor of Alabama in the 60's-80's. At the University of Alabama, two black students were physically blocked by George Wallace, preventing their enrollment in the school.
