Elie's Life Before Deportation
Elie is a mature 12 year old boy who study's mysticism. His father believed that he shouldn't study at 12, but instead at age 30.His mentor is Moche the Beadle,a very religious man and Elie's mysticism "master" who was deported and returned to Sighet to warn the Jews that the Germans were coming to invade and no one believed him.

Deportation
Elie has been put into a cattle car and is being deported with his family. They are on there way to the death camp Auschwitz. While they are on the train they experience the heart break from Madam Schachter as she turns insane from losing her family. She starts screaming ¨Fire,Fire¨ and is beaten by the others on the train because she wont quite screaming it. What no one knows was this was foreshadowing events to come. -
Auschwitz
Elie and his family are now in Auschwitz the worst death camp of WWII. When they arrive Elie and his father are separated from his mother and Tzipora. That was the last time he would see them. While Elie is at Auschwitz he considered it heaven because he was treated kindly by everyone even the man in charge of there barracks. What Elie didn't know was what was to lie ahead. -

Roberto goes to see an american film with his brother Sergio and his friends Memo and Samuel. Just as the credits role at the end of the film German troops storm in and take the boys to a train station, They are being deported somewhere in Italy. All the boys are Italian except for Samuel who is Jewish. Sergio makes him take off his star of David and tells him from now on his name is Enzo. The boys get separated from Sergio and are left on there own to survive the horrors of the German troops. -
Stones in Water: Work,Work,Work
Roberto and Enzo were separated from Memo and sent off to work. They were forced to pick away at the ground and build a holding for the Jews that would be coming in a few days. When the Jews arrive Roberto and Enzo notice a Jewish girl and her little sister. That night as Roberto and Enzo received there food they passed it to the girl and her little sister. From that moment on Roberto and Enzo were both happy and decided that they would make it their mission to keep them alive no matter what. -

A big part of Roberto has just left the world. The night was was freezing and the boys around Roberto were beating Enzo for his blanket. Enzo´s wounds were to great to fix. Roberto held his friend as he passed away that cold winter night of December 25th,1944. Enzo left Roberto his boots and his clothing and Roberto buried him the next day in the field. -
Death March to Gliwice
The Prisoners are being evacuated to another camp. In order to do this they must go on a death march. Elie just out of surgery has a sliced open foot and decides to go on the journey anyway. What he don´t know is 2 days after they leave the camp the hospital is liberated. Once they arrive at Gliwice they all slump down to rest but Elie and his Father who decide its to dangerous to sleep as those around them start to not wake back up for they had caught the silent death. Elie's father dies
On January 29th,1945 Elies father passed away from dysentery. When Elie woke up the following morning he saw that there was no one in his fathers place he had been taken to the crematories. Elie wondered if he was still breathing but it did not matter his father was gone. -
Elie is liberated from the concentration camp
Elie has just been liberated from the concentration camp. All he had on his mind though was food and nothing but food. When Elie finally leaves the concentration camp he is put into the hospital with food posining. The last thing he wants to do though is see himself in a mirror when he does finally see himself he says he did not recognize the man staring back at him. -

The reason I chose this section to read is because it gives an in depth look at how careful the platoon has to be so that they don't make mistakes and murder their own.This section also gave us a look of how terrified the soldiers were and how that was the leading cause to the murder of their first platoon. -
FALLEN ANGELS: Lieutenant Carroll dies
The squad is ambushed and Lieutenant Carroll is severely injured. While he is in the hospital his squad waits for his passing. After he passes away Johnson comes up to Perry and ask him to write a letter to his wife mentioning how much of an honor it was to serve under her husbands corp. -

FALLEN ANGELS: Brew Dies
While on the battlefield Brew is struck by some stay bullets and is injured Perry tries to go over and help him but is also hit with bullets and injured. When a med-vac helicopter takes them away Perry watches as the medics try to bring Brew back to life but its to late and he dies on the plane. -

South African Apartheid
White supremacy has taken over South Africa. Blacks cannot attend the same places as whites this includes schools restaurants parts of land ect. Black children have lesser school knowledge due to low funding for black children. Only 13% of whites live in south Africa. The rebellion kicked off in Sharpsville after police killed 65 people and injured 130 people. Nelson Mandela helps destroy apartheid in 1991. -
