    The French-Indian War was between the French and British colonies. It was fought over control of North America. This is important because it gave Britain control of the territory. I chose this because it was important for who controlled the area.
  • Boston Massacre

    Boston Massacre
    This was an event between British soldiers and colonists. It happened on King Street in Boston. It is important because 5 colonist died. I chose this event because it led to the American Revolution.
  • Boston Tea Party

    Boston Tea Party
    The Boston Tea Party was a protest by colonist(Sons of Liberty). It happened in Boston Harbor. It is significant because they protested by throwing tea into the harbor because they were upset with taxes. I chose this because colonists came together and fought against Britain.
  • First Continental Congress

    12 of the 13 colonies were at the First Continental Congress. They discussed the Coercive Acts passed passed by British Parliament. It was decided that they would boycott British goods.This led to more acts being passes. I chose this because colonies came together to stand up to Britain.

This is important because it started a war between the colonist and Britain. I chose it because it was the beginning of the war that gave us freedom.

    The Declaration of Independence was for the 13 colonies. John Adams, Benjamin Franklin, Roger Sherman, Robert R. Livingston, and Tomas Jefferson drafted it.. It was drafted at the Pennsylvania State House. This is important because it declared us as separate from Britain. I chose it because it leads to the forming of the United States of America.

    This involves the Continental Congress which happens in Philadelphia. They adopted a resolution saying the flag should be 13 red and white stripes. Betsy Ross designed it This is important because it was a national flag. I chose it because it lead to the flag today.

    The Battle of Saratoga was between American and British soldiers. It happened at Saratoga County, NY. I chose it because it is the turning point in the war. It is important because it led to other nation helping the U.S.

    The Articles of Confederation was an agreement between the 13 states. John Dickson wrote it. It was ratified in Philadelphia. This is important because it was the first form of government for the U.S. I chose this because while it was the first form of government it failed and led to the Constitution.

    This is between the British and American army. It happened in Yorktown, Virginia. Britain surrendered to the U.S. This is important because it led to the end of the war. I chose this because it let the U.S be a separate and free nation.

    Delegates of the Constitutional Convention signed the Constitution. They signed it in Philadelphia. This is important because it established the government. I chose this because the Constitution is still used today.

    The Louisiana Purchase was between the U.S and France.The U.S bought the territory of Louisiana for $15 million. This is important because it gave the U.S control of the Mississippi River and New Orleans. I chose this because it led to expansion of the U.S.

    Abraham Lincoln issued the Emancipation Proclamation. It stated slaves in the Confederate states shall be free.It didn't apply to states loyal to the Union though. This is important because it freed slaves in rebelling states. I chose this because it's a very important document.

    Confederate General Robert E Lee surrendered his army to Ulysses S Grant. This took place at Appomattox, Virginia. This is important because it ended the Civil War. I chose this because it's a turning point for America.

    Congress passed the 13th Amendment then the states ratified it. This happened after the Union's victory. This is important because it ended slavery. I chose this because it ended a horrible thing in America's history.
