Binary Computer

Konrad Zuse creates the Z1 Computer a binary digital computer using punch tape. This is important because computers now all use binary and this was the first one.

Future theories

Douglas Engelbart theorises on interactive computing with keyboard and screen display instead of on punchcards. This is important because it gave people a thing to attempt to do with computers.

Optical stuff

Optical fiber was invented by Basil Hirschowitz, C. Wilbur Peters, and Lawrence E. Curtiss. This is important because it made many new things possible with computers.

Word Processor

IBM introduces the first word processor. This is important because it revolutionized how people use computers. It made computers more useable in day to day life.

RAM

Intel introduces the world's first available dynamic RAM ( random-access memory) chip and the first microprocessor, the Intel 4004. This is important because it made running things faster and started more advancements in computers.

Pong

Atari releases Pong, the first commercial video game. This is important because it made a new industry with computers.

The Internet

The World Wide Web is launched to the public on August 6, 1991. This is important becasue it made computers be able to connect with one another.

Java

Java is introduced. This is important because it made writing programs different and easier for some people.

XBOX
