    The baby boom was from Americans. The number of children in the U.S. increased tremendously. Families were making up for time lost during the great depression and world war two. This happened in American from 1945 to 1954. This event was important because the baby boom generation is still alive today. The baby boom impacted society because the population grew from 9 million to 29 million. Hospitals became busier and more products were made.
  • Korean War

    Korean War
    The Korean war was between North and South Korea. Korea was divided at the 38th parallel after WWII. North Korea was communist and South Korea was democratic. The war was from 1950-1953 in Korea. This war was important because there was no formal end to it and it is still technically going on. 54,000 Americans and 2 million Koreans and Chinese died. The Korean War impacted politics because the disagreement in government. The North was communist and the South was democratic.
  • Brown vs Board of Education

    Brown vs Board of Education
    This event was started by Oliver Brown. He asked an all white school to let his daughter attend. The school was closer to their house. Thurgood Marshall and the NAAPC helped file a lawsuit. This was in Topeka, Kansas in 1954. This events importance was it overturned the Plessy vs Ferguson case. The unequal education supplies violated the 14th amendment. The Brown vs Board of Education impacted society by desegregating all schools. All races of student could now have an equal education.

    East and West Berlin were split by the Berlin wall. Over night, East Berlin built a concrete wall with barbed wire on the boarder. It was built to keep East Berlin people in East Berlin. People that tried to escape got shot. This was in Berlin in 1961. This even was important to history because it is a symbol of the Cold War. The Berlin Wall impacted politics because the disagreement in governments. East Berlin was under communists and was not allowed to escape. West Berlin was free.

    The Cuban Missile Crisis was between the United States and the Soviet Union. The Soviet Union was going to launch missiles at the United States. They ended up turning around last minute. This happened in October 1962 in the United States. This was the closest event to a full scale nuclear war. It was a 13 day standoff. The Cuban Missile Crisis impacted society because a lot of people could have died. Fortunately, they signed 2 treaties related to nuclear weapons.

    Martin Luther King's Assassination
    James Earl Ray assassinated Martin Luther King Jr. He stepped out of his hotel where he was visiting to support black sanitation workers son strike and was shot with a rifle. He was hit in his jaw and died at 7:05 that night. This happened April 4, 1968 in Memphis, Tennessee. It was important to history because it was the FBI's most expensive and largest investigation in history. MLK's assassination impacted politics because the civil rights movement ended after his assassination.

    Gerald Ford was president. He was a republican when he was president. He pardoned Richard Nixon. He was president in the United States from 1974-1976. He impacted history with starting trade with the soviet union and investigated JFK's assassination. Gerald Ford impacted society with his presidency. He investigated what is still unknown to humans today, John F. Kennedy's assassination.

Reagan started Reaganomics and cut taxes during his presidency and spent 100 billion on defense for the U.S. He was president in the United States from 1980-1988. Reagan was important to history because he cut money in education and helped reduce nuclear weapons. He also experienced a failed assassination attempt. He impacted society with putting us in debt from "star wars". He was also a movie star and president.

    George H.W. Bush was president. He was a Republican. Bush was president during the Persian Gulf War. He was president in the United States from 1988-1992. His presidency was important to history because he passed the Americans with disabilities act. He was also president when the Berlin Wall fell. Ronald Reagan impacted society because he lead American through rough times like the previously stated. He also made a large impact on the disabled and many others in America.

    Katrina and Harvey are both different hurricanes. Katrina was a catastrophic flooding due to levee failure. Harvey was a category 4 hurricane that caused insane flooding. Harvey was in Texas in 2017. Katrina was in New Orleans in 2005. They impacted history because they are one of the worst natural disasters in U.S. History at category 4. Hurricane Katrina and Harvey impacted society because many were killed and homes were damaged. Thousands died and hundreds were missing.

    Barack Obama and Michelle Obama were involved with his inauguration. Obama took the oath to become the 44th president. He swore on the Bible that was Abraham Lincoln's. It took place in Washington D.C. on Tuesday, January 20th, 2009. It was important to history because there were over one million attendees and it was on of the most observed global events in history. Obama's inauguration impacted society because he was the first African American to become president of the U.S. It was a big step.
