    Nintendo 64 (N64)
The Nintendo 64 was released June 23rd, 1996. Which, coincidentally was my 10th birthday. I ended up getting the N64 for Christmas 1996. It was my first experience with electronic entertainment/video games. I can vividly remember opening it and have too many fond memories to count of years of playing 007 or Mario Kart with my brother and sisters.

    56k Modems
Late 1997 56k modems became commercially available and popular. This stands out to me because it was my first time having an internet connection in my home. At the time the only real exposure to the internet had been using this weird page called google in my 7th grade computer course. I didnt understand the significance of it or why google in particular seemed to excite my teacher so much.
  • Pagers

    Pagers
Halfway through 7th grade my brother, sisters, and myself were given our weird translucent colored Motorola pagers. It really made no sense as cell phones weren't a thing yet and there was also no real context to pagers. Our parents tried to use a convoluted scheme of being paged x means y, but we never remembered and had no clue what they meant or any way to respond. What it lacked in functionality it made up for in contribution to your social status though, so theres that.

    Nokia 3310
The Nokia 3310 was released in September 2000. It was my first cell phone. My mother had picked me up early from school and as i was sitting down to buckle my seat belt in her car something began to ring from under my seat. It was the phone. My mind was just blown that this little thing was a full fledged phone. I played so much snake on that phone.

    Danger Hiptop AKA sidekick
Originally dubbed the Danger Hiptop and subsequently rebranded the "T mobile sidekick" was a revolution of sorts in 2002. Just 2 years prior the Nokia3310 brought cell phones to many on a commercial scale and now just two years later you had a phone that had full internet connectivity. I stood in line for about 3 hours to get one. Even crazier is they sold out entirely about 4 people after me.
