    Through the fifteen hundreds Britian, France, Portugal, and other European countries sailed to Canada to fish and interact in friendly trades with the First Peoples of the area. This happend far befor Settlers came to make permenent resedences. This created original conections with the First Natoins which would benifit future Europeans when globalizing their colonies.

    Exploring the St.Lawrence
    Jacues Cartier sailed up the St.Lawrence and claimed territory along the river for France. He was inspered by the idea of finding a new route to Asia.
  • The Begining of historical Globalization

    The near extinction of beavers in Europe changed the focus of finding a new route to Asia through Canada into finding better ways of colleccting fur. This began the fur trade and Historicle Globalization in Canada.

    France granted a royal charter to the Company of New France giving them a 15 year monopoly over the fur trade in French territories and in turn they had to bring in 4000 settlers to increase the population of the region and develop the settlements.

    The British government granted the Hudson Bay Company a royal charter unknowingly admiting them to seven million square kilometers of land. This created a massive monopoly over the trade.

    This date marks the year containig the last of the Beothuk who died later that year of tuberculosis. After the Europeans took their fishing land they tried to retake it. thsi resulted in th ekilling of many of the Beothuk people and the rest died from European disease because of malnureshment. this demontrates one of the negative effects of globalizaion.

    HBC monopoly was ended after a metis trader was releced from court on the count that he honestly belived he was allowed to trade freely in the area. This created room for more culters to interact withing the trade and spread new ideas and beliefs.
