French and Indian War
It was a war between France and England that went on for 7 years. It cost the British a lot of money. It was important because that is why there were so many taxes on the colonies, to pay for the war. -
Stamp Act
It was a law that put a tax on paper. Each piece had to have a stamp on it or it would not be official. It is important because it was another one of the britishes pointless laws so they could make more money and the colonies had no say in it. -
The Boston Massacre
British soldiers were guarding a warehouse that held all the supplies that were taxed. The colonists came and stood accross from them and a gun shot went of and killed a colonist. No one knows who it was. It was important because it is said to be the first fight in the rec=volution and it started the war. -
Boston Tea Party
This was when men from the colonies dressed in dissguise and went on the ship and dumped all the tea in the harbor. It cost the british a lot of money. Its important because it showed the british that the colonies will fight for what they want. -
Intolerable Act
These were put into action after the boston tea party. It was a bunch of outragous laws and they were apointed a new leader by the king of englad. It was ment to punish the colonies. This was the oint when they had enough and were starting to do something about it. -
Lexington and Concord
The british army searches for weapons and rebel leaders and don't find any and spend the rest opf the day getting shot at and any were killed. It was the first real fight between the british and the colonies. -
Declearation of independance
It was a signed document telling that they were now a new nation, not connected with England. Its important because this ment they were free and didnt have to worry about the british laws. -
Saratoga
The Americans captured an entire British Army. France signed an alliance with the colonies. Its important because they now have more man power and many of the british soliders. -
Yorktown
It was the last major battle in the revolution. It was important because the americans could see they were going to win and have freedom. -
Treaty of Paris
The americans and Great Britan sign a treaty. It ended the war between the two countries. It is important because the americans negociated with the British to become free. -
Constitution
It was signed by the founding fathers and tells of the rights americans have now that they are a independent country. It is important because it was one of the most important documents in history. -
Bill of Rights
It is the first 10 ammendments to the US constitution. It is important because it protects Americans rights.
