Battle of Fort Sumter
Fort Sumter is located on South Carolina. These day the Union was trying to protect Fort Sumter but the Confederates were trying to take them down. Many fires was shot within th 2 days they were battling. Shots were fired from ships and some were fired inside of Fort Sumter. Not many people died in this battle. When the battle was over, repairs begin to be made. Commander Anderson surrendered and let the confederates win the battle.This battle really started the Civil War. -
Battle of Bull Run
The Battle of Bull Run was the first major land battle that happened. The Union was trying to defeat the Confederates. In the beginning they thought that the Union as going to win this battle. As the battle was going on the Confederates brought in more and more people. In the end the Confederates won the battle. -
Battle of Port Royal Sound
The Union were tired of the COnfederates winning all of the major battles. They decided to go and becom ebetter equipped than before. The Union also planned to go and attack the Port Royal Sound. When the Union arrived in the South plantation owners left everything they owned. Confederate soilders wanted to continue standing for their side even though they were out numbered. The win of this battle was easy for the Union. -
Battle of Shiloh
The battle of Shiloh happened in Tennessee.The Confederates started this battle.The battle lasted over 2 days. Over 1,000 people were killed in this battle The battle was over when one of the leaders relized that they were outnumbered. The Union won this battle. The Confederates didn't suffer many losses as the Union did. -
Battle of Antietam
In this battle the Union found a paper of the Confederates battle plans. They tired to use the plans against the Confederates to defeat them. There were over 2,000 people killed in this battle. Commander Lee was over the Confederates and General Grant was over the Union. There was also more Union soilders than the Confederates. No one really knew who won this battle. -
Battle of Palmito Ranch
This battle happened in Texas. This was the last battle of the Civil War. There were more Union that died than the Confederates. The leader over the Confederates was Theodore Barrett and the leader over the Union was John Ford. This battle lasted 2 days.The Confederates won this battle.
