Independence of Mexico War
It was a war between the people of Mexico and the Spanish colonial authorities. The movement, which became known as the Mexican War of Independence, was led by Mexican-born Spaniards, Mestizos and Amerindians who wanted independence from Spain. it was important because the result of the war was that The First Mexican Empire gained independence from Spain. -
Steam Engine
A locamotive that was improved by James Watt. Which is usually powered by coal, wood, or oil. The fuel is burned to produce staem in a boiler, which drives the steam engine. This important because it provided relatively cheap transportation. It aslo helped large and heavy produce to be transported fast and relatively cheaply. Also, it was one of the first forms of public transport that could take a large amount of people a long way. -
Opium War
A war between Graet Britian and China over trade of the illegial and addictive drug Opium. This event is importnat because it made China enter a period of decline. It also made the Industrial Revolution created a need for expanded markets for Europe goods. -
Communist Manifesto
It was a book written by the German Marxist political theorists Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels. It was a declaration of the intentions of a communist organization. It was important because it made the Europeans more aware of the goverment that was all around them at the time. -
Matt Perry goes to Japan
Matt carried a letter from Millard Fillmore President of the U.S.. The letter demanded that Japan open its ports to diplomatic and commercial exchange. This was important because it caused Japan to make the yTraety of Kapagawa in 1854, which agreed to open two ports for American ships, not for trade though. Soon after Japan made made the treaty U.S. won trading rights anyway. Laeving Japan humiliated. -
Sepoy Mutiny
This was a revolt of the Sepoy Indian's, who were trained by the British as soldiers. They heard a rumor that the cartriges of their new rifals were greased with cow fat. This appauled the Sepoy's because they worship the cow. They mutinied and took over the cities of Delhi and Kanpur. Shortly after that the British recaptured Kaptur. Any of the Indian's left were either tourtured or killed. It was important because it was the beginning of the Indian Independence Movement. -
Dr. Sun Yat- sen takes over China
This was when Dr. Sun leaded China to becoem a republic. This was important because it also made China become communist because of Dr. Sun. -
Unification of Germany
This was an event that was whern Germany became a fully integrated state. this was when Germay gained economic independence from the early stages of the industrial revolution. Also the Austrian Prusina and the Franco prusian war played a part in the unification of germany. thsi was importnat becuase it made Germany an officail state of its own not connected to naything or anyone. -
Zulu Uprising
A war between the British Empire and the Zulu Kingdom. The Zulu Kingdom lead a revolt against the rule and taxation of the British. This was important because it ended the independence of the Zulu nation. -
Berlin Conference
It was a meeting that regulated European colonization and trade in Africa during the New Imperialism period. It also delt with with Germany's sudden emergence as an imperial power. Thsi was important because it created a way for leaders to come together and decide on conclusions for problems they all face -
Russo-Japanese War
A war between Japan and Russia over China's Liaodong peninsula and it's main city, Port Arthur. The war went for 6 years. It was important because Japan now owns one of China's peninsula's and cities. -
Hatian Revolution
A war that fought for the elimination of slavery and the establishment of Haiti as the first republic ruled by people of African ancestry. This was important because the result of this was Haitian victory.
