Boston Massacre
This was a shooting by British soldiers on King street into a mob of angry snowball throwing colonists. 5 people died from this catastrophic event. Supposedly, the colonists were also holding clubs and hitting the British soldiers. Overall, the Boston Massacre was an unfortunate event in the fight for our freedom. This was important because it made colonists angry and ready to fight.

First Continental Congress Meets
The First Continental Congress met in Philadelphia from September 5 to October 26, 1774. This event was important because during this time they decided many things for the future of the colonies.

Lexington and Concord
This battle was a huge loss for the British. They lost 73 soldiers and over 200 were wounded, while the Americans only had 49 losses and 39 wounded. This event was important because it marked the true beginning of the Revolutionary War.

This was the Declaration that earned our Independence. 12 colonies signed, while New York did not. It stated that the colonies were free independent states, and were no longer associated with England, This was important because this document declared our freedom.

French signs Treaty of Alliance with the US.
The French signed a treaty of Alliance with the US not long after the Battles of Saratoga. France noticed the independence of the United States of America and offered to help them more. This was important because it was the official ,arking of the French being on the American's side.

Battle of Saratoga
This was one of the most important battles in the Revolutionary War for many reasons. After the Americans won, it proved to other countries that they may have a chance in this war, which made them want to help them. With France and Spain now on their side, America had a much larger chance of winning. The win also brought up the soldiers spirits.
