This act prohibited mixed-race marriages in South Africa -
the Suppression of Communism Act
Passed by the National Party, the Suppression of Communism Act strictly enforced apartheid policies and was created to stop all mass movements. -
The Bantu Homeless Act
This law declared that the lands that were reserved for blacks were separate nations, making blacks forgeiners in South Africa. They could only enter South Africa to work for whites. This picture shows a crowded black town. -
ANC Freedom Charter
The ANC responded the the Bantu Homeless Act by issuing a freedom charter. "South Africa belongs to all who live in it, black and white, and that no government can justly claim authority unless it is based on the will of the people." Separate Representation of Voters Act
The Separate Representation of Voters Act removed all non-whites from the voters roll. -

The Treason Trial
