She had a series of eye operations that significantly improved her eye sight -
Changed her cirriculum
She started with a strict schedule of constant vocabulary and soon found out that wasn't working. She began to teach Helen based on her interest. She did this by spelling it out in Helen's hand. Within 6 months Helen had learned 575 words, some multiplication tables, and the braille system. -
Began working for the Kellers'
She was recommended by the director of Perkins after he received a call from Helen Keller's father Arthur. -
Helped Helen continue to Succeed
She stayed at the school and helped Helen do well as her protege. -
Attending the Perkins school
Anne talked Helen's parents into allowing her to attend the Perkins school. -
Awarded honoray Fellowships
Helen and Sullivan received honorary fellowships form the Educational Institute of Scotland and honorary degrees from Temple University. -
