Boston Massacre

The First Continental Congress
It was when elected delegates from 12 of the 13 colonies met at the Carpenter's Hall in Philadelphia. The objectives there were unclear, but the first few weeks were discussion and debates. The other were about government. It is important becuase it helped shape our country

American flag
On June 14 1777 the Continental congress adopted the the flag.
They resolved that it would be alternating red and white on 13 stripes and a blue field with 13 white stars representing all 13 colonies. This is important because it showed need for indapendance.

British occupying Philadelphia
This is important because it forced patriots to abandon the capital of the colonies and the patriots lost a lot of needed supplies.

Benedict Arnold commit treason
Benedict Arnold meet with British Major John Andre to discuss giving West Point to the British. In return Benedict Arnold got the promise of a large sum of money and a high position in the British army. When the plot got foiled he was then known as a traitor to the Americans

Battle at Eutaw Springs, SC
This event was important because it was one of the last battles of the south. It was also one of the bloodiest battles fought in the war and it was a major engagement because Major General Nathanael Greene had 2200 men and Lieutenant Colonel Alexander Stewart had 2000 men. The Americans had more than 500 wounded or killed and the British had more than 700 of their soldiers were killed, wounded or missing. In all it was a partcial victory for the Americans.
