Hitler launched offensive attack through Ardennes, attack created bulge between American lines, advance toward Rhine was delayed, after Allied aircrafts took skies again Germany retreated, America took back land that they lost.
This event is important because even though we hit a bump in the road, so to speak, we did advance in our plans. -

Allied forces swarmed across the Rhine at Remagen, German forces fell into Ruhr Valley, German armies surrendered, German armies Destroyed

Soviets began final drive against German capital, Hitler committed suicide, Berlin surrendered, German government surrendered unconditionally to the Allies.
This event is Important because it marked the end of World War II.
