  • 7.2- Exosystem

    7.2- Exosystem
My dad used to go around Laguna on his bike trying to get lost, so he could find his way back home and learn how to navigate properly. He then carried that over to my brother and I when he would send us out around town on errands, and told us to learn our way aorund the city. Now I can find my way around towns thanks to that technique.
  • 1.1 Birth

  • 4.2 First Word

My first word was mama, and it is a nominal word, or one that lable people, or objects. This occured in my one word stage.
  • 6.1- Basic Emotions

I had a stuffed animal Pug that I loved. Wherever I went that dog went with me. When I got the stuffed animal I broke out into a huge smile and that is how my parents knew I loved the toy. Since I never liked to be alone this dog would always keep me company and keep me happy.
  • 5.1- Kohlberg's & Gender.

I picked three because she showed a little bit of trouple picking her own gender, and the genders of others. I do think that she has some gender stability though.
  • 4.1 Memory

My first memory is of me blowing out the candles of my 4th birthday cake. I remember this because I realized that I got to make a wish, I was so excited that whatever I wanted was going to come true. I wished to win the lottery and so far it has not come true, but what I now know is that the reason I rember this so vividly is because I could just start putting together sentences and that is how I can tell my life story and remember it.
  • 3.1 Preoperational Magnetism

I would have the child pretend that the two magnents are people, Mr. Positive Ms. Negative. Then I would say that Mr. Positive really liked Ms. Negative and was attrated to her. Then When the got close to eachother they would hug and become Neutral.
  • 8.1- Children and Television

My favorite tv show was seseme street. This show had little or no plot and was made up of several short sketches designed to keep me entertained. I used to watch my moms soap operahs and could not understand what was going on because of the complex plot.
  • 1.2 Theories

    1.2 Theories
On this day I watched the famous movie Jaws. At the age of seven I sat down and watched in horror as people were eaten by a giant great white shark. For about three years after that I thought that whenever I went into the ocean I would be eaten by a shark. Bronfenbrenner would say that this element in my life shapped a fear of the ocean, more specifically sharks. The fact that I had finallygot over my fear was that everyone in my family swam in the ocean.
  • 2.4 APGAR

I would have given Nicolai a 9 out of ten for his APGAR. I thougt he had a good vigorus cry, active motion, and was mostly pink except for the hands and feet. I assumed his heartbeat to be over 100 since the rest of his APGAR was normal.
  • 3.2 Concrete Magnetism

    3.2 Concrete Magnetism
The two magnents have opposite charges one is positive and the other is negative. Since opposites attract the two will naturally stick together and form a neutral bond.
  • 5.2 Encouraging Gender Schemas

In elementary school the boys in the class were generally given more manly stickers on test that they got back like baseballs, and girls got unicorns. Also, the gorups that we were put in had very little integration of genders. Usually there were boys groups and girl groups. This was how they reinforced gender in my school.
  • 2.2 Active Gene Environment Correlation

My parents knew I loved sports, particularly baseball, and would always play catch with me or have balls in the back yard that I could hit and throw in order for me to have fin and get better at baseball.
  • 2.1 Passive Gene Environment Correlation

    2.1 Passive Gene Environment Correlation
My parents are sociable people and always have people over talking and reconnecting, and I have carried that trait as well. I love meeting new people and getting to know them and also talking and hanging out with my friends.
  • 2.3 Evocative Gene Environment Correlation

When I was younger my parents figured out that I loved to do math. So whenever it was summer time, to keep me fresh in school they would always have me do summer homework, where I would have to read write and do math. Most of my homework had to do with math so I got very strong in the math areas of school.
  • 8.2- School Transitions

    8.2- School Transitions
In my middle school transiton I went from a small class, to a big 400 person class. However, rather thna decline in academic drive, my grades went up as I wanted to get into an Ivy League school. I worked harder in middle school than in elementary school, unlike many other typical americans who experience a hard academic transfer because of the more teacher controled environment.
  • 7.4- Friendship

    7.4- Friendship
I had a friend that I always had sleep overs with and we loved to pretned wrestle like in WWE. This illistrates rough and tumble play. We would also play cooperativley on video games trying to beat the latest game, and at lunch in elementary school we would pretend that we were hunters, illistrating social pretend play.
  • 6.3 Forclosure

I was in forclosure when I thought I wanted to be a civil engineer. I knew I liked building bridges, but did not explore all the other options like psychology. I came to the descion that civil engineering was not for me when I was in pre-calc and I started to get lost in the curiclum.
  • 3.3 Imaginary Audience

    3.3 Imaginary Audience
In high school I stopped participating in class as because I thought I was shy, but the real reason is that I did not want to be wrong. I did not want everybody to look at me and think I was a know it all or worse dumb. This demonstrates ofrmal operations because my train of thought is not the same as others train of thought like in the preoperational stage with one dimensional thinking.
  • 6.4 Achived

I became achieved when I read Freuds book on psycholanalysis. I was soo fascinated that I took the psychology course in high school and declared psychology as my major. I had looked into engineering and business, but found psychology and comitted to it.
  • 6.2 Self control pt. 2

completed my best round ever. I shot two over and my score was the lowest in the match. Afterwards I celebrated with my teammates not only the low score, but my delay of gratification. The delay was my celebration.
  • 6.2 Self Control pt. one

I was on my high school golf team when I showed a delay of gratification. I was on the fourth hole of my home course, a hole I had never birdied before because of the tough green when I hit the green in regulation and was 20 feet away from a birdie. I made the tough sidewinder and my first birdie on the hole ever. I did not scream in excitement because I knew that I had five more holes to play before the match was over. Rather than let my emotions get the best of me, I stayed focused and...

I was apart of a clique that liked classic raock, and usually listend to classic rock at lunch. A crowed I was apart of was the crowd taht liked to socialize on the weekends at movies and other places downtown with all the other kids from my highschool
  • 7.1- Parental Strategies

    7.1- Parental Strategies
I asked my parents about why they would not let me or my bronther own a car until we were out of our first year of college, and they said that they wantd to make sure that we earned it. After hearing this I figured that my parents had a goal for us to get through college, and they had little rewards along the way to make sure we met their goals. With these rwards set, my parents had a high personal efficacy.
  • 1.3 Data

    1.3 Data
On this day I found that my strategy of sitting in a chair that would make me look smaller than my actuall size helpoed children open up to me. Also, I found that wearing new and interesting clothes helped the child pay attention to me longer. These strategies will be used to fight the assumptions that we can make with adults, but not with children.
