    The Declaration of Independence was drafted by Thomas Jefferson. It contains many important subjects to the United States history. The Declaration of Independence holds the goals of our nation. It aslo contains the complaints and arguements of why people wanted to be free from the British kings power. The people In Britain were being treated unfairly by the British rule . The signing of the Declaration of Independence is when the United states separated from Britain.

    The constitution was signed by 38 delegates from the original states, and presided by Washington at the constitutional convention in Philadelphia. It is important because it gaurantees the basic rights for citizens. It established americas national government and fundamental laws.

    France agreed to sell New Orleans for $10 million, then agreed to sell the Rest of the Louisiana territory for an additional $5 million. The United States doubled its size for only $15 million. This is important to US History because it is seen as one of the greatest real estate deals in history.

This act granted unsettled land west of the Mississippi in exchange for Indian lands in the state borders.     Booth wanted to keep the Civil War going, so he offered kidnapping the President in exchange for 200,000 confederate soldiers. Abraham Lincoln was assassinated after Robert E. Lee surrendered.This is important because it indicates the first Presidential assassination.

    The fifteenth amendment gave citizens of the United States the right to vote. The Rights should not be denied depending on race or pervious condition of servitude. This gave the right of voting to African American men. The fifteenth amendment is important to American History because it gave voting rights to all America males of all races.     USS Maine exploded and sunk killing 268 men and officers on board
    this event happened in the Havana Harbor. The United States is still unsure about who caused the explosion. This explosion was a result of a black powder mine. But later, there was an investigation stating that an internal fire caused the explosion(1999). This is important because its the event that led to the Spanish American War.

    This was the worlds first atomic bomb ever dropped.This happened killing more than 80,000 people while injuring 35,000.The bomb was dropped to bring WWII to an end. This is important because the bombing marks the end of WWII.

    Martin Luther King delivered his "I Have a Dream" speech at the Lincon Memorial in Washington D.C.He wanted to bring attention to how terrible things were different back then (during the Civil War) and how things changed very little in the last 100 years.In the 1950s-1970s times were difficult for African-Americans,they were treated differently just because of their skin color.The speech was important because it pushed congress I move faster in passing the Civil Rights Act."we cannot walk alone"

    My Lai is the event where US soldiers began a mass killing in Vietnam.Most victims were children,women, and elder men. This caused American soldiers to kill between 200 and 500 innocent, unarmed civilians.This is important because the US sent soldiers to fight for our freedom, but when they returned they were spit on and called baby killers.     This event took the lives of over 3,000 people.There were 19 militants associated with the Islamic group al-Qaeda hijacked four airliners and carried out suicide attacks in the United States. Two of the planes were flown into the towers of the World Trade Center in New York City,a third plane hit the Pentagon just outside of Washington,D.C. The fourth plane crashed in a field in Pennsylvania .This importance gave the US ability to overcome tragedys.
