    Japanesse invasion in China
    Japan was interested in some natural resources that was on China's territory and they saw China's weakness so they invaded the country. China turned to the League of Nations, the condemned Japan, which made problems worst. After that Japan made China suffer by controling their ports and defeating their internal enemies.
  • Raping of Nanking

    Raping of Nanking
    During the Sino-Japanese War, Nanking, capital in China, falls to Japanese forces. Japanese General Matsui Iwane ordered for Nanking to be destroyed, most of the city was burned and Japanese troops launched a campaign of atrocities against civilians which was later known as the "Raping of Nanking".
  • Germans invades Poland

    Germans invades Poland
    A German battleship (Schleswig-Holstein) opened fire on Poland which was defined the first military engagement of WW2. 62 German divisions supported by 1,300 aircrafts commenced the invasion.
  • German Blitzkrieg

    The Blitzkrieg wasn't used in the German title manual or handbook. German forces tried this tactic in Poland (1939) before trying it in Belguim which was successful. The blitzkrieg was the best post facto understood.

    Parisians were awaken by a German annoucing that a curfew was in place by 8 p.m. and Germans were going to be occuping them. Winston Churchill informed the French government we would stepp in to be their aid. Later after German tanks took over and captured the parisians but most had flee the city. The Canadians came in and gave them hope but the United States were no longer completely idle.

    Barbarossa was the largest military operation in history, it was also planned over a year previsously to the wake of Germany's success against western allies of France. This operation was one of the decisive moments of war in Europe but thde Germans ran out of steam and will powerr that they faced losses and the Soviets survived.
  • Pearl Harbor

    Pearl Harbor
    100 Japanese fighter planes attacked American naval base at Pearl Harbor near Honolulu, Hawaii on December 7 in the morning. The Japanese managed to destroy many of Americans naval vessels and aircrafts and they also killed 2,000 American soldiers & sailors but 1,000 was wounded. After this attack President Roosevelt requested war on Japan to Congress and they agreed. Later after the request was granted Germany and Italy declared war on United States. United States finally joined WW2.
  • Wannsee Conference

    Wannsee Conference
    Himmler's second in command Reinhard Heydrich convenced the Wannsee Conference in Berlin with 15 top Nazis bureaucrats to coorindate the Final Solution in which the Nazis woulc attempt to exterminate the entire Jewish population of Europe.

    The surrendered Filipinos and Americans were gathered togethered by the Japanese and was forced to march 65-miles to a prison camp. After the Death March America and the Philippines seeked for avenge, which they succeed in, they recaptured Bataan Pennisula
  • Operation Gomorrah

    Operation Gomorrah
    The attack on Hamburg was called Operation Gomorrah, it was a joint Britsh-American venture. It was planned to last three nights since the germans did their bombing at night and Americans bombed during the day. They killed more than 1,500 german civilians in 1st raid. With each raid Germany was losing men but proved devastating to Hamburg. When it was all over more than 30,000 people died, buildings were destoryed.
  • D-Day

    D-Day
    156,000 Americans, Britsh, and Canadian forces landed on five beaches along a 50-mile stretch of the heavily fortified oast of France's Normandy region. One of the largest military assaults in history. The Britsh and Canadians overcame light opposition to capture beaches, as well as American on Utah beach. Possibly 156,000 Allied troops successfully took over Normandy beaches. More than 4,000 Allied troops lost their lives in the D-Day invasion and thousands more were missing or wounded.
  • Operation Thurderclap

    Operation Thurderclap
    Operation Thunderclap was shelved until ten days after the great Soviet offensive when the Joint Intelligence Committee. Churchill's sudden interest in the Thunderclap was prompted byb the conference that would replace Yalta.

    The Battle of the Bulge was also know as Ardenne Offensive, was largest battle fought on the western front in Europe but it was also the largest battle fought by United states army. It was a German offensive intended to draw a wedge between Britsh and American armies and to take over the port of Antwrep
  • Battle of Iwo Jima

    Battle of Iwo Jima
    Americans invaded Iwo Jima which turned out to be the first strike on Japanese island or home land that America succeed to defeat. Iwo Jima was defend by 23,000 Japanese navy troops and army but with all these men defending the beach line America fired heavy at the Japanese. After a month of fighting the Japanese were losing and they could no longer defend the land. This battle became an American victory so American troops raised and planted our flag in the ground.
  • Battle of Okinawa

    Battle of Okinawa
    Battle of Okinawa was the bloodiest battle for Japan and allied forces on the Pacific and it was the longest for them all this battle lasted 82 days. This battle involved 287,000 American troops against 130,000 Japanese soldiers. Both sides lost their commanding officers and both sides came hard with air strikes and artillery fire. Many soldiers were killed and wounded American & Japanese.

    VE-Day is also known as Victory in Europe Day, this day is celebrated by Great Britain & United States. VE-Day is celebrated on the 8th of May but was oringinally wasn't celebrated until the 9th. The Germans surrender to the Soviet forces

    America became the first to every use atomic weaponry and to drop an atomic bomb. The Americans dropped an atomic bomb on Hiroshima. Most think that the dropping of the atomic bomb ended WW2 but others think it started the Cold War.

    V-J Day was the day that was marked into history when the Japanese surrendered to the Allie forces. V-J day was formally knowned as the "Victory over Japan Day" which was celebrated on the 14th & 15th of August.
