Japanese invasion of China
It was called the Sino-Japanese war. It happened because of a conflict that broke out when China resisted to expand Japanese influence in their territory. The Japanese occupied a large amount of areas in Eastern China. The effects of the war was that it rose interest in politics, a sense of pride (for women- they would rather die than serve the Japanese) and Chinese women became stronger. After the war, feminism was awakened. -

Ribbentrop/Molotov Pact
It is the treaty between the Nazi government and Germany; each country doesn't ally or help other countries in war. Then, it became unuseful due to Hitler's attack on the Soviet Allies.

Germany's invasion of Poland
On September 1, 1939, Germany invaded Poland. After heavy attack and bombing and shelling, Warsaw surrendered to Germans. After that, Britain and France had guarantee on Poland's border so they declared war on Germany; Also, the Soviet Union invaded eastern Poland. It happened because Hitler claimed that the massive invasion was a "defensive action" but Britain and France were not convinced. Hitler wanted Poland to be a "living space" for Germans. This triggered WWII. -
German Blitzkrieg 1939/1940
Blitzkrieg is a German word in which translates to "lightning war"; it's a military tactic to attack in short time.The tactic was tested on Poland in 1939 and then applied used in 1940. Germany wanted to avoid long war so they attacked in short periods of time. They successfully used their tactics on Poland, Denmark, Norway, Belgium, Netherlands, Luxembourg, Yugoslavia and Greece. They did not defeat Britain. After using this tactic it resulted in many new land gain and expansion of German rule. -

Operation Barbarossa
Hitler launched his armies eastward in a massive invasion of the Soviet Union. The Germans had many deficiencies and underestimated their opponent. Stalin attempted to control every aspect of the operation. This was the beginning of the end for Hitler. Hitler got defeated by the weather conditions and not by Stalin -

Pearl Harbor
Pearl Harbor attack was a surprise bombing of the American Naval of Pearl Harbor. The Japanese attacked the US without warning. The reason the Japanese invaded was because they were tired with negotiations with the US; the Japanese wanted to expand Asia but the US stood in their way. The Pearl Harbor lead the US led to join WWII. -

Bataan Death March
This happened in Philippines. Japanese conquered the Philippines. Japanese militaries had bestowed aristocracy to the prisoners. They were tortured.

Manhattan Project
The Manhattan Project was a project in effort to create an atomic bomb suggested by scientist Albert Einstein. It was a research project that was produced the first nuclear weapons in WWII. After the nuclear bomb, the world entered to what is known as "the nuclear age". This resulted in many technological advancements, it ended WW2, over 100,000 people died from the effects of it and now many countries are creating dangerous nuclear weapons. -
Battle of Stalingrad
It was a major battle on the Eastern Front of WW2 in which Nazi and its allies fought the Soviet Union for Stallingrad. The battle was known for being the bloodiest battle of WW2. Hitler lost.

Operation Gomorrah
It was an aerial bombing campaign that occurred in the European Theatre of Operations during WW2. It happened because it was part of WW2 (part of the battle between Germany and Britain). Hitler believed that they were going to be victorious. Hitler was critical, he declined to visit the wore out communities. -

Allied invasion of Italy
The Italian government secretly agrees to the Allies' terms for surrender. Mussolini wanted to build Italy into a new Roman Empire. The Italian government agreed to surrender.

Operation Thunderclap
The plan envisaged a massive attack on Berlin in the belief that would cause 220,000 casualties with 110,000 killed, many of them key German personnel, which would shatter German morale.
