    The Japanese invasion of Manchuria began on 18 September 1937, when the Kwantung Army of the Empire of Japan invaded Manchuria immediately following the Mukden Incident. After the war, the Japanese established the puppet state of Manchukuo.
    But why did this happen? During the 1930s Japan posed a serious threat to British interests in China. In September 1931 the Japanese invaded the Chinese province of Manchuria which only ended in July 1937.

    The Bataan Death March was when the Japanese forced 76,000 captured Allied soldiers (Filipinos and Americans) to march about 80 miles across the Bataan Peninsula. The march took place in April of 1942 during World War II. In total, 10,000 men – 1,000 American and 9,000 Filipino died during the Bataan Death March. Those that survived the march would spend the next 40 months in horrific conditions in confinement camps.

The Warsaw uprising inspired other revolts in extermination camps and ghettos throughout German-occupied Eastern Europe.
