Germany invades Poland! This begins the war of death and struggle. Now that Germany had began to take land with its effective Blitzkrieg plan Britian mobilized it's troops and finally the pot met its boiling point. The German Blitzkrieg was when Germany would take all of its troops to one place and capture foreign soil. Once Germany invaded Poland Bitian was furious and began to mobilize its troops toward allied countries to help protect from Germany. -

Germany Invades France!
INFOOn this day the capital of France, Paris has fallen. Germany continues to take land and invade other countries with their quick and effective military tactics. Before the Germans invaded Paris about 2 million Parisians had already fled to other countries knowing that France was outgunned and outmanned by the fast striking Germans. After Canada had heard the news that Germany had taken France it immedietly sent troops, tanks and planes over to France to help show a sign of hope to free france. -
Germany Bombs London!
INFO(lasted until may 10, 1941)This was a period of infamy for Britian. There were 34 guild halls in London 31 of which were decimated. 40% of housing destroyed by german forces. This battle of London was called the "Blitz", Germany had taken all of its planes and sent them to London and dropped almost 30,000 bombs. with all of these bombs 20,000 British civilians were left dead with an entire city left to rubble. -
United States lend supplies and old warships to Britian.
INFOThe Lend Lease Act was passed to send military aid to Britian. The United States sent old military naval ships, weapons, and any other defense materials. This was the end of isolationism for the U.S. because we had now tied bonds with many European countries and now felt guilt that the United States was not helping protect other countries from the Axis powers. Many rejected the act because they knew that the end of isolationism would end if it happened but many knew it was the right thing to do. -
Germany Invades Soviet Union!
INFOGermany had just recently signed a non-agression pact with the Soviet Union. However Germany decided that they had a good opportunity to gain land and power. But the Soviet Union was ready for a cold winter but Germany was not. And so Germany had many deaths and people dieing from frostbite and were forced to retreat. -
Japan bombs Pearl Harbor!
INFO AND VIDEOThis was an American day of infamy, Japan had bombed one of the U.S.' most powerful naval bases. On this day hundreds of Japanese planes attacked Pearl Harbor with a smashing barrage in just a short two hours. The Japanese managed to destroy nearly 20 American naval vessels, eight enormous battleships, and more than 300 planes. More than 2,000 Americans died in the attack, and about 1,000 were wounded. The day after the attack FDR declared war against Japan which quickly brought in Germany. -

INFOOn this day the United States declared war on Japan and Germany jumped in and declared war on the U.S. and the U.S. declared war on Germany. American troops were quickly mobilized and sent to Germany and Japan. Also the U.S. sent troops to other countries that were not part of the axis powers. FDR said all of this in a 10 minute speech about the attack on Pearl Harbor. -
United States Wins Battle of MIdway
INFO(ended on june 7, 1942) This was a turning point in the pacific against Japan. Now that the U.S. had won this battle we had shown our dominance over Japan. It helped us because we had taken a large chunk out of the Japanese navy. Japan saw this battle as and easy win and a good spot for a naval base. But the U.S. broke the Japanese code and was ready for the attack and smashed the Japanese offensive. -
The Battle of Bulge
INFO AND VIDEO(Ended on January 25, 1945)The battle of Bulge was a German last attempt to win WWII. Hitler attempted to split the Allied armies in northwest Europe by using his Blitzkreig tactic that had worked earlier in the war. They blew up all of the briges into Germany except for one and that one bridge was the United States one chance of crossing into Germany and ending the war after days of fighting the AMerican troops had won over the Bridge and crossed into Germany. -
D-Day the bloodiest battle of WWII !
INFO AND VIDEOD-Day was an american planned day teamed with many allied countries. It was the day that americans would put thousands of troops on the beaches of Normandy to begin the liberation of western Europe. However Germany was prepared for the attack on Normandy and had dug themselves in and were strong but not strong enough to hold back the american troops and so america proved its medal. -
Battle of Iwo Jima.
INFO AND VIDEO(Ended on March 26, 1945) The Battle of Iwo Jima was a major battle for the United States. Marines landed on and eventually captured the island of Iwo Jima from the Japanese. Iwo Jima was defended by roughly 23,000 Japanese troops. With all of the Japanese troops the United States won with 3 military divisions. And now had a place to short range bombs on places inJaoan like the Atomic Bomb. -
United States drops Atomic Bomb!
INFOThe Atomic Bomb was one of the most deadly bombs ever made the bomb dropped on Hiroshima killed 80,000 people on impact leaving tens of thousands seriously injured. But Japan did not concede to the Allies and continued to fight. This made the United states very mad and to stop the Japanese army we had to drop another Atomic BOmb in the Japanese city of Nagasaki killing 40,000 people and finally Japan Signed a peace treaty and WWII was coming to an end.
