    THe Japanses sent a message to the Chinese asking if they could cross the Lugou Bridge the search for a missing soldier, the Chinese army refused. The Japenese ignored the refusal and enttered China starting World War 2 in the Pacific Ocean. China fought Japan with economic help from the Soviet Union, the British Empirer, Germany, and the U.S.

    Also known as "lighting war", was a tatic used to by the Germans for attacking. They would take out multiple towns at one time and gain control.

    World War won began when Germany invaded Poland. On one side were the Axis Powers, including Germany, Italy and Japan. On the other side were the Allies, Britain, France, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, India, the Soviet Union, China and the U.S. The war caused destruction far more than any war had, causing mass casualties and warfare advancement in the process. The war caused over 80 million casulaties world round and ended with the surrender of Japan and Germany to the Soviet Union.

    On this day Adolf Hitler and his 1.5 million troops invaded Poland delcaring the star of World War 2. he German Luftwaffe bombed Polish airfields, and German warships and U-boats attacked Polish naval forces in the Baltic Sea. Britian and France then declared war against Germany.

    Fall of Paris
    On this day, German troops entered and occupied Paris. By the time German tanks rolled into Paris, 2 million Parisians had already ran. British Prime Minister Wilson Churchill gave speaches incouraging France to stay strong. On this day, President Roosevelt froze the American assets of the Axis powers, Germany and Italy.

    Pearl Harbor
    The Japanese made an attack on the U.S. harbor in Hawaii destroying U.S.S. Arizona and damaging many of Americas marine warfare. The Japanese used submarines and other various advanced marine warfare.
  • Battle of Midway

    Battle of Midway
    A battle between the Japanese and U.S. marines. A crucial and decisive naval battle in the Pacific Ocean. A four day sea and air battle. Japan had had. 2,500 casualties. The U.S. lost the Yorktown, 145 aircraft and suffered approximately 300 casualties.

    Allied Invasion of Italy
    Montgomery’s 8th Army began its invasion of the Italian mainland and the Italian government agreed to surrender to the Allies. By the terms of the agreement, the Italians would be treated with leniency if they aided the Allies in expelling the Germans from Italy.

    160,000 Allied troops landed on the beach of Normandy, France to fight Germany Nazis. More than 5,000 ships and 13,000 supported the D-Day invasion. The Allied powers did not achive all that was planned and only killed 1,000 Germans, but still showed resilience.

    Concentration camps created by Germany Nazis where the killed their enemies, such as Jews and Americans. In the final stages of the war, Soviet Union marched into the Majdanek camp in Poland an gained control of the camp releasing its prisoners
  • Battle of Iwo Jima

    Battle of Iwo Jima
    U.S. marines landed on and captured the island of Iwo Jima from the Japanese army. This brought the need for the Japansese to form defense of their coastline as they only had roughly 23,000 defending the island. This started one of many U.S. attacks on Japans main islands.
  • Battle of Okinawa

    Battle of Okinawa
    Allied forces invade the island of Okinawa and engage the Japanese in the bloodiest battle of the Pacific War. This was the last and biggest battle in the Pacific islands. Japan had lost more than 77,000 soldiers and the Allies had suffered more than 65,000 casualties.

    VE Day
    The Europeans had finally had faced victory from the surrender of the German Nazis. Germans surrendered to their Soviet antagonists, losing more the 8,000 soldiers. This marked the defeat of the Germans and the end of the war.

    An American B-29 bomber dropped the world’s first deployed atomic bomb over the Japanese city of Hiroshima. The explosion took 90 percent of the city and immediately killed 80,000 people. 3 days later, a second B-29 dropped another A-bomb on Nagasaki, killing an estimated 40,000 people

    After the atomic bombs America and unleashed on the Japanese citiy of Hiroshima, Japan surendered to the United States of America. Japan realised its signing of surrender on September the 1st, marking the end of World War 2.
